An avid collector requested a painting of a redpoll–we discussed size of canvas and general colours–similar to previously purchased paintings.  The rest was artistic license and open timeline (I usually do not choose to work on commission): I included two birds, male and female, and created a winter habitat scene entirely from my imagination and experience.  They were absolutely thrilled with the result.

In early fall 2014 I began to explore the landscape in paint for the first time.   I’ll enjoy experimenting with many different techniques, media mixes, sizes and supports until I find the perfect fit.
